Dear Family, Friends, Colleagues, Acquaintances, and Associates!

Some of you may already know this information, and for this I apologize for filling your mailbox with redundant information.

Some of you may receive this information more than one time on various lists, or through other band members, and for this also I apologize.

But… I am nevertheless very pleased to announce that the first, self-titled CD from my Colorado based band Kara Nomadica is now complete and available for purchase!

After a year and a half of hard work, we have a product that we are very proud of. I think that we have achieved a rather unique sound in the realm of Middle-Eastern/World Fusion music.

The CD contains 14 tracks: 12 original compositions and our treatment of 2 classic Middle-Eastern songs, with a running time of over 65 minutes. Instrumentation on the CD includes oud, baglama saz, ney, fretless bass, Arabic tabla, dholla, riqq, tar, bendir, davul, muzzar, qarakeb, didjeridoo, voice, and a myriad of other percussion toys. All our songs are inspired and driven by traditional Arabic and Turkish rhythms and maqamat (micro-tonal scales), and the band members have well over a century of combined musical experience.
Look for the track "Darbukastan" which I wrote to honor this wonderful group of people.

Denver music critic John Zwick says: “Kara Nomadica is what happens when you bring together a mess of overqualified music geeks with Middle Eastern instruments you’ve never heard of…it’s a damn captivating sound!”

Please visit our website where you can listen to samples and purchase the CD! MP3 tracks will be available for on-line purchase very soon.

Thank you all for your support of my musical pursuits over the years.

p.s. To all of you who have supported our vision with pre-orders of our project over the last year, I’m happy to say that your signed copy of the LP was mailed yesterday!!! Thank you so much!!!

p.p.s. This e-mail went to pretty much everybody I’ve ever received an e-mail from. If you have no interest in Kara Nomadica and wish to be removed from any future update e-mails from me, please reply to this message and let me know.
