One thing DID could perhaps use to keep itself afloat by way of PR, is an 'official' 3-5 minute youtube video - a slice 'o life of DID.
TribalCon in Atlanta has one, and we have one for my camp, TribO, (youtube it under Triboriginal Promotional Video) and I think it is a great marketing tool that conveys far more than a static media ad, is a great way to SHOW friends rather than just tell them why they should come next year.
And, with the magic of editing, the Muses of Spirithaven can totally control what that public perception IS!
That said, I have no idea how one does this, being a bit of a hopeless Luddite.

Sun, June 29, 2008 - 7:13 AMI posted a few video clips to YouTube that should be a good start for a DID PR video. The videos include brief segments from the music workshops and the Saturday night hafla. I wish I had taken more video but my battery didn't last very long. Unfortunately, I don't have any video from the dance workshops to add to the list. If anyone has a concern with posting these videos online (especially the workshop teachers), I will be glad to remove them from YouTube. I hope this helps.
