I just finished capturing over 10 hours of video footage from the 2009 DID weekend and some of it turned out really good. Unfortunately, some of the video is a little dark. I'm still learning how to use my new camera. If anyone is interested in helping with the following production work items, let me know.
2009 DID DVD Production
- select video clips to include in the DVD (1.5 to 2 hours total)
- recommendations for sequence of video clips
- recommendations for menu layout
- graphics for menu
- graphics and layout for DVD jacket

Re: Help with 2009 DID Video Production
Sat, June 27, 2009 - 10:04 AMChris,
Thanks for offering to help. I guess it makes sense to start with the task of deciding what to include in the DVD and what to cut. I have separate DVDs of the raw footage that you can review and let me know which segments you think should be included in the final cut. I have sent DVDs to the performers to get their feedback on what they would want to cut and what they would like to keep. Let me know if you would like to work on one of these sections or if there is something else you would want to work on. We can have more that one person review the video footage it other people are interested in helping.
Raw Video Footage:
- Spirithaven Farm
- Friday Afternoon Performance: Wine and Alchemy
- Friday Night Performance: CeltHix
- Saturday Afternoon Performance: Balkanize
- Saturday Night Performance: Dragon Song
- Saturday Night Hafla
- Sunday Afternoon Performance: Dragon Song

Re: Help with 2009 DID Video Production
Sun, June 28, 2009 - 9:23 AMI would very much like to lend a hand, Brian. I'll definitely watch the DVD from start to finish and offer up my own keep-or-cut suggestions, plus help out with the sequence and menu ideas ... I would also offer my help with graphics, but I think it's been well established that Darbukastan has much more talented graphics, design and illustration people than myself! Still, whatever you need, let me know. I don't have very sophisticated software (I do all of BALKANIZE!'s flyers and promo material on Microsoft Paint, fer chrissakes), but I'll offer up whatever I've got. I also have a lot of personall photos of Turkey and the Balkans that could maybe be used and manipulated (hmmm, sounds like a few of my high school romances) for backgrounds, collages, transitions, whatever. PM me for my phone number, if you ever want to talk about this stuff o'er thon long range telephonic speaking device!
