I am planning to bring my new professional quality HD video camera to DID this year to capture some of the memorable and inspiring experiences we all share during this special event. I am currently planning to capture as much as possible of the Friday night and Saturday night haflas. Let me know if you have any other specific suggestions to include in the video. If the video turns out OK, we can consider producing a DVD to help raise money for the Darbukistan treasury.

Re: 2009 DID Video Suggestions
Wed, May 27, 2009 - 5:01 AMHey Chris,
Thanks for the heads up. I was thinking of bringing some of my sound equipment with me also but it sounds like you have it covered. Let know if you need any more stuff. I have a couple of power PA speakers (JBL), an 18 channel mixer with a Firewire interface (good for multichannel recording), and a mix of various microphones and stands. -

Re: 2009 DID Video Suggestions
Wed, May 27, 2009 - 6:42 AMScott and I are meeting with the guys at the farm this afternoon and I will see if I can get a rundown of what they got. They have done live sound work for me before and have a ton of stuff. They play in a jam band and between their stuff and the Celthix we should have plenty of stands. If you want good mics (and a good mix of mics) are always good. I think the idea is to try and capture everything we can! I will let you know if we can use anything else. Thanks again!
Chris.
P.S. Word to the wise. Its been VERY, VERY, VERY, WET!! in SW Va. this year. Those of you that have been to DID for many years remember just how wet it can get at the farm. Please bring ground cloths for tents. We are putting out good energy that the rain will let up for next weekend. But, I don't think the rain has stopped for more than two days strait all spring/summer.
